Creative Diversity: Measure How Much Variety Your Meta Ads Actually Have

Wilow's Creative Diversity view shows how your Meta ad creative spreads across visual styles and messaging themes. Spot concentration risk before it costs you. Free plan.

Meta's Andromeda retrieval engine does not reward volume. It rewards variety. When your account runs twenty ads that are functionally the same — same visual style, same hook, same message — Andromeda groups them as one ad in the retrieval stage. You entered the auction with one ticket, not twenty.

Wilow's Creative Diversity view shows you the spread. Not which ad is winning — the Creative Leaderboard does that. Creative Diversity answers a different question: is your account running enough genuinely different ads to give Andromeda distinct candidates to retrieve, or are you leaning on one style and hoping it carries?

How Creative Diversity works

The view presents one card per label category — one for UGC ads, one for product shots, one for testimonials, and so on — each showing a representative creative alongside a count of how many ads fall under it. A glance tells you whether your account is running a healthy mix or concentrated in a single lane.

Below the cards, two doughnut charts sit side by side: spend distribution on the left and your chosen conversion action on the right, both sliced by the same label dimension — Visual Style or Messaging Theme — with a single shared colour key between them. The pairing is the point:

  • When the two rings match: spend and results are aligned. Where you put money is where you get returns.
  • When the two rings diverge: spend concentrates in one slice but results come from another. That is the mismatch Creative Diversity exists to surface. A single creative style is eating budget while a different one is quietly delivering.
  • When both rings collapse to one fat block: your account is running one note. One visual style, one message. That is concentration risk — if that one style stops performing, nothing else is running to catch the fall.

Hover any ring to see the name, value and percentage of every slice at once as callouts around the chart. Changing the label dimension re-slices both rings and updates the shared key. Changing the conversion action re-weights only the results chart. No controls live on the chart itself — the view reads selections made elsewhere on the page, so it never carries its own taxonomy or action picker.

Labels are correctable in place

Every label can be edited directly from the Creative Diversity view. Hover a card to reveal the edit affordance, click the label, and select the correct value from the allowed taxonomy — the same pattern used for action selection elsewhere in the app. Once a label is set by hand, it is locked: future automated labeling jobs skip that field. Human corrections are treated as ground truth and never overwritten, so the diversity picture stays accurate over time.

Why this matters for Meta advertising in 2026

In the pre-Andromeda era, scaling Meta ads meant scaling budget. You found a winning ad, duplicated it into new ad sets with different audience settings, and spent more. The algorithm did what you told it.

In the Andromeda era, the algorithm reads the creative itself and decides who sees it. Audience settings matter less. Creative variety matters more. An account running genuinely different ads — different formats, different emotions, different personas — gives Andromeda more distinct candidates to match against different people. An account running variations of one idea gives it one.

Creative Diversity is the view that tells you which camp your account is in. It does not score what good diversity looks like or recommend changes — it stops at showing the spread. What you do with the picture is up to you. But you cannot act on what you cannot see, and most Meta advertisers cannot see this.
